YMCA of Ukraine is looking for treasuresOn the 19th of March in Kiev game “Hunters for treasures” organized by United Nations Organization, Resource center “Gurt”, the center of volunteers “Dobra Volya” (“Good Will”) was held. Kiev YMCA was one of the partners of the game. The aim of this event was...
...to make Ukrainian youth acquainted with the ideas of volunteering and also to raise awareness on HIV/AIDS problem among youth. The game was built in the form of intellectual quest, every stage of which had different riddles and secret guiding lines of some places in Kiev. All guiding lines were joined up in the chain which a team must go through in order to win.
Impressions were only positive. Though our start wasn’t great (we forgot our admission card), the game started for us very quickly. It was very cool, when many young people began to run somewhere simultaneously avoiding cars and pedestrians.
At first the riddles seemed to be not very difficult, but later we understood that they are not very easy at all. We thought that we know Kiev very well, but it was not true. For a long time we couldn’t find one monument (it was one of the tasks), but with the help of other people we finally found it.
Then we had to solve puzzles that bewildered us all the time. In the end we lost. But it’s not the main thing! The aim of our team was not to win (though we wouldn’t refuse). We wanted to find new friends and to have a good and useful time. And we can definitely say that we succeeded 100%!
